PLANT DESCRIPTION - This ever-popular hardy annual is perhaps more versatile than you might imagine - good in the border, most effective as a cut flower in arrangements, a good pot-plant and, not often appreciated - if carefully dried, the colour of the spikes remains unchanged for a considerable time. With neglect it will flower when only a very few inches high, but with generous treatment, specimens three or four feet or more with enormous drooping tassels of green-yellow flowers can be obtained. 3? ft.
2. HOW TO GROW - Sow under cover in Mar/April (mid spring). Will only germinate when soil temperatures are above 70F/21C. HNeeds regular water. Grow in moist soil, moderately fertile and humus-rich. Harden off and plant out after last frosts.
